| This Ramadan may be different than any one of us has experienced before in our lifetime. To adapt to these changes, ICEB will try to manage things as follows: 1. As per the NJ State/Township guidelines for avoiding the spread of Coronavirus, activities at ICEB are expected to remain on hold for the entire month and people are requested to perform their daily prayers at home until the ban is lifted. 2. With the limitation of staying indoors, ICEB is working on scheduling online programs such as Dars/Tafseer-Ul-Quran, informative sessions on teachings of Quran & Sunnah, and special sessions for teens to maximize the barakah of Ramadan. Please look for updates under the Ramadan tab on our website. 3. Ladies Dars will continue online. 4. Zakat Collection: ICEB will be collecting Zakat this year and will provide support to the eligible individuals or families who are in need. 5. Jazak’Allah for donating money for ICEB funds to assists people affected by the pandemic. Please let us know if you know of any family personally that is affected and Insha’Allah, we will try to assist them. Also, being a Muslim, it is our responsibility to support our neighbors and people in need so please continue to donate generously for this cause. Here is a breakdown of distribution we have done so far: AMFHR: $3,000 (For food assistance for needy families in NY & NJ) ICNA: $1,000 (For food assistance for needy families) Aldersgate Church: $1,000 (For Food Bank on behalf of East Brunswick Township) East Brunswick Township: $625 ($25 Gift cards for poor families in town) Pakistan, Bangladesh & India: $250 each The holy month of Ramadan is the time where we see a great display of generosity from our community. ICEB mostly depends on Ramadan donations for its annual operations, kindly continue helping ICEB with your generous donations, particularly for our upcoming New Masjid Construction which was tentatively scheduled to start July/August this year. May Allah (SWT) reward you in this world and in the hereafter, Aameen!
